Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz could be cleared for contact following Week 2, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports, citing sources.

Backup Nick Foles will start Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the second straight week as Wentz continues his comeback from a torn ACL and LCL.

Though Wentz's return appears to be nearing, the Eagles are taking a cautious approach when it comes to live competition. The MVP candidate of a year ago still may be a few weeks away from playing, Rapoport reports.

The Eagles will host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3 and travel to face the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. A big conference matchup with the Minnesota Vikings looms in Week 5.
