Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly unhappy at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte looks set to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season despite having a contract until next year.
The Italian is “preparing to move on”, says the Daily Mail, and the Premier League side are already drawing up a list of replacements.
Names on the shortlist include Juventus’ Massimiliano Allegri, ex-Barcelona boss Luis Enrique and former Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti, who yesterday was linked with Arsenal as a replacement for Arsene Wenger.
The Sun reports that Conte, who led the Blues to the Premier League title last year, is “upset” at the club’s transfer policy and growing increasingly frustrated at the Bridge.
Allegri’s success at Juventus and AC Milan makes him Chelsea’s preferred choice to take over from Conte. He has won four Serie A titles in the last six years and taken Juve to two Champions League finals.
However, he has a contract with Juve until 2020 and that would make it hard for Chelsea to lure away from Turin, the Metro reports.
If Chelsea are unable to get Allegri, then Enrique could become favourite for the job. He is out of work since quitting as Barcelona manager last summer and also had great success during his time at the Camp Nou.
He won two La Liga titles and the Champions League during his three years at Barcelona and the Metro says he is “thought to be interested in working in the Premier League”.
Meanwhile, bookies Paddy Power have Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri as favourite for the Chelsea job if Conte decides to move on.
