Gustavo Martinez Expands His Global Leadership Team at JWT


JWT CEO Gustavo Martinez continues to build his senior management team, adding Lyle Tick as global chief growth officer, a new position at the WPP Group agency.

Tick most recently was vp, category director, North America vodkas at Bacardi, but previously spent his career on the agency side. Before joining Bacardi as senior global category director, vodkas, in 2011, he was co-president of Gotham in New York, a unit of Interpublic Group's McCann Worldgroup. Martinez ran Worldgroup's European and Asian operations before he joined JWT in 2013.

The London-based Tick is returning to New York to begin his new job in late April. At JWT, he joins a team that includes Martinez and global chief creative officer Matt Eastwood.

"In Lyle, we have added to our management team a global citizen and digital native who is equipped to embrace the challenges of the industry and turn them into opportunities for growth," Martinez said, in a statement.

At Gotham, Tick had profit and loss responsibilities and help forge short and long-term business strategies. He also worked with "Arrested Development" stars Jason Bateman and Will Arnett on the content series, "Always Open," for Denny's.

Earlier in his career, Tick held account management roles at agencies like mcgarrybowen, Euro RSCG and DDB. His brand experience ranges from Intel and Poloroid to Reebok, Verizon and Brahma beer.
