Louis C.K. is back at work after spending a few months in comedy jail after an investigative report detailed his sexual misconduct.
The Louie star had not publicly addressed the allegations since his almost apologetic letter admitting he had in fact cornered women and masturbated in front of them.
Until last week.
The comic is now back on stage and reportedly doing bits about the fallout from his scandal.
Comedy news site Laughspin reports he opened his drop-in set last week at the West Side Comedy Club by saying:
“It’s been a weird year.”
He immediately addressed the elephant in the room, or rather the ones likely to walk out, as he said:
“Good to be here even though some of you might not like me.”
A source who saw the show said he seemed more “confident” as he joked about going to “hell and back.”
He was also quoted as saying:
“I lost $35 million in an hour.”
We’re not sure if that’s an exaggeration, though he definitely lost tons of work as both a comedian and a writer-director.
But to be fair that hour was made up of many, many 30-second increments built up over several years, in which he kept making the decision to give women a lifetime of emotional torture from being the non-consensual participant in a sex act.
But sure, let’s round to an hour.
