Editor’s Notes: London’s Footpatrol and Perth-based boutique Highs and Lows have come together with Reebok for a two-sneaker collaboration. Accounting for the first partnership between the two retailers, presented are joint takes on the Classic Leather Clip and the Phase One Pro.
The project, titled “Common Youth,” stems from Highs and Lows founder and creative director Matt Thomas’ childhood travels from Australia to England. During these experiences, Thomas picked up on the many similarities between Australian and British youth culture.
Both having originally released in the 1980s, the Classic Leather Clip and the Phase One Pro note white vintage leather uppers representative of that era, with burgundy and navy accents that reference the colors of British and Australian passports. Metallic gold details then play complement, while dual branded logos are featured throughout.
Alongside the sneakers, Footpatrol and Highs and Lows debut matching apparel items, all of which will be available beginning Friday, August 24, in-store at a special pop-up shop at 40 Berwick Street, Soho W1F 8RX. The product will also release at Footpatrol Paris and Footpatrol.com at 8 a.m. BST.
In related news, Reebok has hired a former Nike VP to lead the Classics business unit.
