Music has a way of organically bringing people together, something that is certainly true for the indie band . The electro-pop duo is a collaboration between musicians Jon Nellen and Joe Manzoli who met in 2012 while recording ‘s Where Will We Go EPs. Today, we’re premiering their stellar A/B-sided single “Crown I” and “Crown II” featuring Naima. In an email to Highsnobiety, the pair explained how the complementary tracks act as a call and response when paired together despite being written on separate occasions.

“‘Crown I’ being a sort of a chaotic song navigating separation and a longing for perspective,” ginla told us. “‘Crown II’ is that perspective-once longed for-the ability to take a step back and see yourself and/or situation as a spectator. The ability to let go of someone or something within that new headspace.”

ginla’s debut album Codex is due out on September 7 via Terrible Records. Stream their latest batch of songs in full below.
