Thugs have spray painted abuse on the home of Jacob Rees-Mogg and left a purple dildo on his car.

Pictures showed ‘posh scum’, ‘shut up and die’ and ‘****head’ written across his windows and garage in West Harptree, Somerset.

Condoms were also left on grass that surrounds the Conservative MP’s home in the attack on Wednesday night.

Mr Rees-Mogg, his wife Helena and two of his children were not at home at the time.

The family are currently in New York on holiday.

A source said his housekeeper sent him photos when she found his home in a bad state on Thursday.

Mr Rees-Mogg, 49, MP for North East Somerset, shrugged off the incident that was blamed on left wing extremists after an anarchy symbol was left on a vehicle on the property.

He told the Sun on Sunday: ‘It appears to be someone who can’t hold their drink — and probably not Catholic.

‘However, it has all been cleared up so this drunken protest will not even have a short-term effect.’

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: ‘We’re investigating a report of criminal damage at a property in West Harptree.

‘The incident happened sometime between 4pm on Wednesday, 1 August and 8am on Thursday 2 August.

‘Graffiti was sprayed on a building and a car, while damage was also caused to the garden.

‘House to house enquiries have been carried out while crime scene investigators have attended. Enquiries are ongoing.’
