Around 100 people are feared to have drowned after their boat capsized in the Mediterranean.
It is not clear where they had set off from, but their boat came into difficulties off the coast of Libya as they tried to reach safety in Europe.
Fourteen migrants were rescued by the coastguard this morning but scores are still missing.
Ayoub Gassim, a spokesman for the North African country’s coastguard, confirmed the rescue but said he couldn’t confirm details of their nationalities.
He said the boat capsized east of the capital Tripoli.
