Only days ago, Kanye West took to Twitter to claim the artwork for his forthcoming album would feature Dr. Jan Adams, “The person who performed my moms final surgery” stated West. West’s mother Donda passed away in 2007 after complications following liposuction and breast-reduction surgery.
While most would assume there was a slim likelihood (due to legal reasons around copyright ownership of the image, and Kanye’s track record of last minute creative decisions) of West actually using an image of Adams for his album artwork, as a response, Adams has released an open letter to West, which was released by The Blast. Adams’ letter requests that Kanye “cease and desist using my photo or any image of me to promote your album or any of your work.”
The letter then divulges details of West’s mother’s last days in hospital, as Adams attempts to set the record straight on her passing.
Later in the letter, Adams voices his willingness to meet with Kanye face-to-face. Kanye himself responded “Thank you so much for this connection brother. I can’t wait to sit with you and start healing.”
