Social Media Is Thanking Selena Gomez for The Weeknd’s ‘My Dear Melancholy’
The Weeknd dropped a surprise EP My Dear Melancholy late last night, and Twitter has already turned into a social group cry.
For the album, Abel delivers a dark and emotional six track project, an antithesis of his shiny, star-studded Starboy. Many fans are calling this the “old Weeknd.” The full cut production assists from French artist Gesaffelstein.
With lyrics like, ‘I said I didn’t feel nothing, baby, but I lied / I almost cut a piece of myself for your life / Guess I was just another pit stop ‘Til you made up your mind,’ he appears to reference Gomez’s kidney transplant and reveals he almost gave one of his to her. If that doesn’t make you want to curl up in the dark pondering if you text your ex or not, what will?
