Watch Ryan Donato Score First Career NHL Goal In Boston Bruins Debut
Ryan Donato hasn’t even played a full NHL game and he already looks like a seasoned veteran.
The 2014 second-round draft pick made his pro debut with the Boston Bruins in Monday night’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at TD Garden, and it didn’t take him long to score his first career goal.
Donato finished off a 3-on-2 rush and scored on a slap shot at 5:41 of the second period. Torey Krug and Danton Heinen earned assists on the tally.
The 21-year-old forward scored on his fifth shot as an NHLer. He nearly scored during a first-period power play.
Donato’s dad, Ted, who coached Ryan at Harvard the last three seasons and also played for the Bruins, must be very proud of his son.
