The news of four-star quarterback Brevin White turning down Alabama may not be noteworthy, but the school he opted to commit to instead will turn a few heads.

White, who is ranked the 12th-best pocket-passing quarterback in the country by ESPN, will head to Princeton for the 2018 season.

While Princeton is certainly one of the finest educational institutions in the country, it's not known for being a football powerhouse. For White, the experience of attending the Ivy League school was what made the decision to stick with his commitment to the Tigers an easy one.

"The main reason I decided to stick was because Princeton offers me opportunities to fulfill my aspirations on and off the field," White told Tom Van Haaren of ESPN. "Alabama is a first-class institution and a program with a great education, but Princeton checks more boxes personally for me. Princeton is the best fit for who I am."

White committed to Princeton last summer despite holding offers from a number of Power 5 programs. The defending national champions offered White a scholarship on Jan. 25th and got the California native on campus for an official visit the same weekend.
