‘Black Panther’ Outsells All Marvel Films in First 24 Hours of Pre-Sale
Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther is scheduled to hit theaters on Friday, February 16, but even a month before its premiere, the highly-anticipated film is already garnering huge attention. According to MarketWatch, Fandango reports that the first 24 hours of ticket pre-sales for the film just broke the record for highest ticket pre-sales of any Marvel movie. The record was previously held by Captain America: Civil War, which released in 2016.
Fandango’s managing editor, Erik Davis, made the announcement on Twitter earlier, although, he didn’t share exactly how many tickets were sold. The pre-sale tickets were available to purchase as of Monday, January 8, following a new trailer for the movie that also features a new track from Kendrick Lamar and Vince Staples.
Big news this morning – #BlackPanther sold more advance tickets on @Fandango in its first 24 hours than any other MCU movie, besting previous record holder Captain America: Civil War. Long live the King! pic.twitter.com/JL1c28AgWm
