After months of speculation, Jarrett Stidham is officially Gus Malzahn's go-to guy.
The Auburn head coach officially settled one of the nation's more interesting quarterback battles by announcing Monday that Stidham will be the starting quarterback for the Tigers when they open the season against Georgia Southern on Sept. 2.
Stidham had been battling with last year's starter Sean White for the top spot on the depth chart prior to the announcement.
Malzahn has to be very impressed with what Stidham has shown during camp, considering the fact that Stidham has now replaced White, who is still on the roster, without having played a down of Division I football since November of 2015.
