Jordan Spieth's attempt to become the sixth player to accomplish the career grand slam began with a first-round 72 at the PGA Championship.
"I thought tee to green it was pretty solid," Spieth told Amanda Balionis of TNT following Thursday's round. "It was really just on the greens for me, I had three three-putts. I didn't have easy putts, but my speed control was just a little off today."
Beginning his round at the par-5 10th, the 24-year-old parred his opening two holes, before making a beautiful two-putt par at the par-4 12th from 71 feet.
