Wyoming's Josh Allen was something of an overnight sensation leading up to the 2017 NFL Draft. He went from being a little-known prospect to one of the most highly touted quarterbacks in the class in no time.

While Allen ultimately decided to return to the Cowboys next season, he's expected to be among the top picks in 2018, which means he enters his junior year with some extremely high expectations.

As Allen prepares for the 2017 campaign, he's been joined by an unlikely training partner: former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel.

"Johnny has been very informative for me," Allen told Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports. "Not just on the field but off the field, staying out of the spotlight, doing the right things."

Manziel, selected 22nd overall by the Cleveland Browns in the 2014 draft, is attempting to return to the NFL after being cut by the Browns in March 2016. He found incredible success at Texas A&M, but his off-field issues and troubles with substance abuse impeded what once had the potential to be a promising NFL career.

While Manziel may not seem like the optimal choice to mentor a young quarterback attempting to prepare for the NFL, he can certainly offer a template for what not to do.
