After winning last week's SBS Tournament of Champions, Justin Thomas continued his stellar play Thursday, carding just the eighth sub-60 round in PGA Tour history with a 59 at the Sony Open.

Thomas started his day with an eagle on the 351-yard par-4 10th, but gave one back at the next hole with a bogey. After that, it was flawless golf for the 23-year-old, who made eight birdies, no bogeys, and six pars.

The Louisville native got into some trouble on the par-4 17th when he found a green-side bunker, but was able to get up and down for par.

The three-time tour winner then came to the par-5 9th, his 18th of the day, needing to make a 15-foot eagle putt to join the 59 club.

Thomas broke Davis Love III's 18-hole tournament record of 60, shot back in 1994.
