By all accounts it appears that Klay Thompson has had an excellent adventure during his year away from the basketball court. Well, except for the part where he has been rehabbing his left ACL.

He was still on crutches post-surgery when he reported to the set of “Space Jam 2”.

He signed a max contract with the Warriors over the summer, reported at $190 million over five years.

He has served as a sideline reporter for a Warriors game, with special emphasis on bobble heads.

He has returned to Washington State where his alma mater retired his college jersey.

His latest affectation is a commercial filmed by the Chinese company Anta, with which Thompson has done a bit of business over the years. Check it out:

It hasn’t been all sweetness and light. During his trip to the Palouse it was discovered that Thompson has been limping along on substandard electronic devices.

How substandard? Try a flip phone. Eagle-eyed former Warriors teammate Zaza Pachulia uncovered the embarrassment from a video of Thompson’s jersey ceremony.

To his credit, Thompson outed himself when he could have insisted that the flip phone was a loaner necessitated when Rocco ate his iphone 11 pro max.

One last thing — Thompson purports to have taken up fishing.

Sounds like a fish story.
