Rapper Nef the Pharaoh says Vallejo slaying victims were his sister, nephew
A Vallejo woman and her 4-year-old son shot and killed last week appear to be the sister and nephew of Bay Area rapper Nef the Pharaoh (Tonee Hayes).
Hayes, a Vallejo native, posted numerous pictures of his sister and nephew several days ago. Authorities have yet to officially release the names of the two victims.
“I love you more then LIFE big sister, & I’ll miss giving my nephew hugs & kisses….I keep walking around the house thinking I’m gonna see your smile any minute…I feel like shit cause I wasn’t there to protect you & my nephew, I love you guys SOOOOOOOOOOOO much,” he wrote.
Police believe a 25-year-old man, Jacoby Brandon Brooks, shot his ex-girlfriend and their son before killing himself.
Police responded to reports Thursday night of a woman down in the intersection of Lewis Brown Road and B.W. Williams Drive. When officers arrived they found a woman, 26, dead of at least one gun shot wound.
After learning the woman had a son, police went to a home in the 500 block of Quartz Lane in North Vallejo. There they found the boy shot to death.
Brooks was found a short time later in the area south east of the Quartz Lane crime scene dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The two homicides are the second and third homicides in the city of Vallejo for 2020.
