Mac Miller‘s family has taken to social media today to announce that the late rapper’s first posthumous album will be releasing next week on January 17. Titled Circles, the project was originally intended to be a companion album to Miller’s 2018 LP, Swimming, which went on to become the final release during the artist’s lifetime as he passed away just one month later on September 7.
The Instagram post from Miller’s family reveals that he was working on Circles at the time of his passing. Following the Pittsburgh-born musician’s death, producer Jon Brion committed himself to finishing the album based on his time and conversations with Miller.
It remains to be seen if Circles will include any features and if we will receive a single prior to the album’s release. You can follow Instagram account @92tilinfinity to stay up to date on information surrounding the project, Miller’s charity, and the artist in general.
Circles will serve as Mac Miller’s sixth proper album and his first posthumous effort. Each of his previous projects went on to chart in the top five on the Billboard 200.
