Brand: Saucony, 24 Kilates
Model: Grid SD “La Victoria”
Key Features: Burnished light brown leather is not something we’ve seen on a pair of sneakers in a while and it really works here in large part because of the backstory, explained below.
Release Date: October 11, 2019
Buy: 24 Kilates Barcelona and 24 Kilates Bangkok
Editor’s Notes: The latest joint effort between sneaker retailer 24 Kilates and American footwear brand Saucony is on the Grid SD. Titled “La Victoria” for the first ship to circumnavigate the globe, the kicks channels the design of the 85-ton ship that was built in the Basque Country and commanded by Ferdinand Magellan.
Details include a cross-perforated pattern, an interior lined with thin red leather, ripstop along the tongue, zig-zag reinforcement stitching, brass grommets and a brass lace hook. The sneaker is finished off with the 24 Kilates crown logo, the ship’s flag on the heel tab and the tongue label, and a golden “La Victoria” logo embossed on the heel.
The pair comes in a special edition white box with red and gold embossed applications and a four-color lace pack.
