Azealia Banks Reignites Elon Musk Beef With Wild Execution-Themed Song
It looks like Azealia Banks is reigniting her beef with Elon Musk. In a now-deleted Instagram post, Banks revealed that the digital release of her latest mixtape Yung Rapunxel II would feature two unreleased songs, the most notable being “96’Corolla (Motorman).” The track tells the story of “an ungrateful technocrat” named Alon Dust whose ego “becomes too big for his britches” and is publicly executed in the year 3030. With the song, Banks is not-so-subtly referring to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, who she publicly feuded with last year.
In the statement Banks shared the story of “96′ Corolla (Motorman).” In the song, Alon Dust comes up with “the perfect scheme to entire poor people into allowing their brains to be used as an interface: Neuralink.” However, an A.I. overlord created by Dust turns on his master and Alon Dust is “publicly executed” by having his brain activity halted, “rendering him a vegetable and erasing him as [a] threat to humanity.”
This more or less tracks Elon Musk’s very real Neuralink plans to plant chips into human brains to achieve a “symbiosis with artificial intelligence.”
While we await the release of “96′ Corolla (Motorman),” you can listen to Azealia Banks’ Yung Rapunxel II below. And you can read our brief history of the Banks-Musk beef here.
