Karamo Brown is silencing his social media critics!

As of Friday, the Queer Eye star has deactivated his Twitter account after catching heat for his response to Sean Spicer’s casting on Dancing with the Stars. Brown’s Instagram account is still up and running, but the comments have been turned off.

As we reported on Wednesday, the culture expert and former White House Press Secretary and White House Communications Director were announced as part of the lineup for season 28 of the dancing competition show… and people are still REALLY pissed about it!

It’s really no surprise Spicer’s inclusion in the cast has sparked outrage amongst fans, considering the disgraced former WH aide used his platform to repeatedly lie to the American public and attack journalists during his tenure under President Donald Trump.

We really should be wagging our finger at ABC for this casting, right?

Well, a slew of disappointed fans turned their frustrations toward the 38-year-old TV personality, expressing their disapproval that Karamo is even willing to work with Spicer.

In his response to a follower in a since-deleted tweet, the Real World alum penned:

“First, I have no say who is on the cast and didn’t find out till this morning that he is on! But I’ll tell you this… I’m excited to sit down w/ him and engage in respectful conversations. Only way things get better is if we try to educate those who have different POV than us.”

Brown also wrote that he “can’t stand people” who post things “just to flame the fire and get a reaction” in another tweet, adding, “we fight harder than your ass ever has for people of color and members of the LGBTQIA community.”

Hm, that’s a fair point.

The embroiled star received some support from fellow Queer Eye star Bobby Berk, who defended his cast member in a series of since-deleted tweets. On Thursday, he hopped online and wrote:

“As if being on @DancingABC was the stars wasn’t already one of the most grueling things anyone can put themselves through, celebs now have to deal with the producers and casting planting political land mines to blow you up. I’m very saddened by what my cast mate @Karamo is having to deal with today.”

The design expert is referencing the way the public slammed Brown for calling Spicer “a good guy” and “a really sweet guy” in an interview with Access Hollywood. Berk said his pal’s media training was behind the politically correct knee-jerk response.

“We’ve been trained over and over not to talk smack about anyone in an [interview] and to try and be as nice as possible. When being backed in a corner about voicing his opinions about @seanspicer Karamo’s media training kicked in as we are trained to do.”

He continued, adding:

“It’s frankly a really [sh*tty] situation to be put in and @ABCNetwork should be ashamed of themselves for having to put the cast in the position of having to take a political side on a f**king dance competition.”

These two aren’t the only ones who’ve spoken out about the 47-year-old’s casting.

Longtime show host Tom Bergeron went on Twitter and posted a message seemingly shading Spicer, too.

The 64-year-old’s lengthy message revealed he met with the show’s new executive producer a few months ago, and hoped the program would be free of “divisive bookings from ANY party affiliations.”

Clearly, that isn’t happening!

What do U think about it all, Perezcious readers?

It’s kind of a bummer that Karamo is catching so much flack for something he doesn’t have control over. His initial response was… questionable, but shouldn’t we save our energy for #BoycottDWTS instead of attacking Brown? We also have to wonder, is the backlash too overwhelming that he’ll end up quitting DWTS, too?

We’ve got a little over two weeks until the competition for the Mirror Ball begins on September 16, so we’ll just have to wait and see how this one plays out!
