There’s a lot of exciting TV and movie content coming our way this year, if the wealth of trailers released during last weekend’s San Diego Comic Con are anything to go by.
Alongside the return and revival of certain classics like Top Gun and Terminator, the weekend saw the arrival of a bunch of fresh projects too, with HBO’s upcoming Watchmen series taking one of the top spots on our “most excited for” list.
Below you’ll find our round-up of the trailers we were most hyped about at Comic-Con this year.
The first trailer for fantasy series His Dark Materials dropped during SDCC and it delivered everything fans of the Philip Pullman-penned trilogy could hope for. The show will land on HBO this fall. Watch the trailer above.
Patrick Stuart’s Jean-Luc Picard is at the forefront of Star Trek: Picard, a series that’s said to be a follow-up to Star Trek: The Next Generation. The TV show is set 20 years after Picard left Starfleet and finds himself returning to the fold.
TBS’ new series Snowpiercer picks up a couple of years after the 2014 film, which depicted the remnants of humanity existing on a singular, perpetually-moving train on a frozen Earth.
While there wasn’t a new official trailer for Terminator: Dark Fate as such, we were given a behind-the-scenes featurette that delivered a wealth of insight into what goes in to making such an action-packed film. Watch above.
Tom Cruise returned as the cocky fighter pilot we all know and love in the new trailer for Top Gun: Maverick, 34 years after the original movie debuted. Of course, the clip is stacked with all the adrenaline-pumping scenes you could hope for.
The apocalyptic zombie saga that is The Walking Dead is heading to the big screen soon, with Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes at the forefront. During SDCC it was revealed that the first of three films will land in theaters — but that’s all we got in the teaser: no title nor release date has been revealed as of yet.
HBO delivered a trailer for its upcoming graphic novel adaptation of Watchmen. Riffing off the Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons superhero story, the narrative will follow vigilantes in an alternate America during the Cold War. Watchmen is slated to arrive on HBO in October.
Say goodbye to the wild west, Westworld fans, for the third season is taking us into World War II. The new trailer gives us a closer look at how the robots are coping in the real world, as well as vertigo-inducing shot of Aaron Paul’s new character, and of Tessa Thomson’s in a killer peach-colored power suit.
Netflix finally delivered our first look at the upcoming adaptation of novel series The Witcher. Drawing from Andrzej Sapkowski’s OG books, not the video game, the trailer spotlights Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia and many other powerful character’s that build the fantasy world.
Trailers don’t come much more terrifying than the final one for It: Chapter Two. The short clip shows evil resurfacing as Pennywise arises to plaguing the Losers Club once again, 27 years after they defeated the deranged clown the first time.
