A historically significant gold Rolex Daytona watch is up for auction next month in Geneva, Switzerland.

The watch was once a gift from Brazilian Formula One legend Ayrton Senna to his mentor Angelo Parrilla. Senna is considered one of the greatest F1 drivers of all time, winning three World Championships before his tragic death during a race in San Marino in 1994.

The 18-karat gold Cosmograph Daytona is from circa 1989, with the reference number 16528 case back stamped 16500. Engraved on the reverse in Portuguese is “A Angelo da Ayrton 1978” (“To Angelo from Ayrton”). It is being sold with an autographed picture of Senna, an autographed faceguard from Senna’s helmet, a letter from Parrilla confirming the watch was given to him, and photos. Also included is the original box, service guarantee, pouch, and product literature.

Auction house Phillips expects the lot to fetch between $101,000 and $201,000.
