Houston Rockets guard James Harden was back to his old tricks Wednesday night against the Brooklyn Nets. Fresh off an awe-inspiring 57-point outing against the Memphis Grizzlies in his previous game on Monday, Harden went off for another 50 Burger against the Nets. The NBA MVP candidate scored 58 points on 16-of-34 shooting in Houston’s 145-142 loss to the Nets. He’s the first player to drop 50-plus points in consecutive games since ... James Harden (yeah, that guy) did it in December of 2017. No other player in the Association has accomplished this feat in over a decade. And it was something to behold. Dude is on an absolute roll. Harden is now averaging 43.5 points over the past 12 games. Is that good? Unfortunately, the Rockets couldn’t win the game. That’s the most shocking development of the night.
