Fourth-tier ASF Andrezieux beat the 10-time Coupe de France winners 2-0 at Saint-Etienne's Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. There is a gap of 59 places between Ligue 1's Marseille and Andrezieux.
But Andrezieux weren't phased and seemed at ease in their temporary 42,000-capacity home, scoring either side of the interval through Bryan Ngwabije and Florian Milla. Their regular abode, L'Envol Stadium, is a gray, modest structure that houses only 5,000 spectators.
Andrezieux came close to cup heroics during the 2017-18 campaign, when their run Coupe de France run was ended in extra time by Ligue 2's Auxerre.
The minnows will learn who they face in the round of 32 when the draw is conducted on Monday. The next stage is slated to be held on Jan. 22 and Jan. 23.
