Franck Ribery's foul-mouthed outburst on social media is going to cost him.
The Bayern Munich midfielder will receive a "heavy fine" from the club for launching a scathing attack on critics who disapproved of his purchase of a gold-coated steak while on holiday. Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic addressed the situation with Ribery during the team's training camp in Dubai, saying that the Frenchman has accepted the punishment that the team will impose on him.
"I had a long talk with Franck and I let him know that we would impose a heavy fine on him and he accepted it," Salihamidzic said, according to The Telegraph.
"He used words that we, FC Bayern, cannot accept and that Franck does not have the right to use, as a role model and player of FC Bayern," he added.
The controversy started when Ribery posted a video on social media of Nusret Gokce, also known as "Salt Bae," serving him a gold-covered Tomahawk steak reportedly worth - according to The Independent - £1,000 at the Nusr-et restaurant in Dubai.
