Toronto FC have made a big change at boardroom level.

The Reds have hired former New York Red Bulls sporting director Ali Curtis as their new general manager, the club announced Thursday.

As Curtis enters, Tim Bezbatchenko exits. Toronto also confirmed the club's senior vice-president and previous GM has departed with immediate effect. The native Ohian was reported this week to be close to accepting a similar role with the Columbus Crew.

More to come.
