New Balance brought down the house last week at Williamsburg cultural hub Kinfolk 94 when it hosted a private launch event celebrating the brand’s latest lifestyle sneaker innovation—the R_C1.
The R_C1 is a product of the brand’s longstanding relationship with Japan and was brought to life at its Tokyo Design Studio to represent the pinnacle of current sport-style while building on familiar heritage roots. As the newest crop of R_C1 colorways make its way to the States, Highsnobiety partnered with New Balance to celebrate the launch with an immersive nightlife event at Kinfolk that mimicked the feel of downtown Shibuya.
Drawing on the night’s eastern themes were DJ sets by musicians StarRo and Haruka, a claw-grabber machine filled with tasty Japanese treats along with pairs of the Trace Fiber R_C1, all flanked by a beautiful photo exhibit near the dance floor shot by subculture junkie Adrian Bianco.
