Trump says we’re killing energy business here with EPA regs. Says the oxymoron of “clean coal” can last 1,000 years. Makes some ridiculous claims that revived fossil fuel will pay off the national debt.
Energy question really showed the difference between Hillary’s knowledge on the subject and Trump’s RW talking points.
She’s giving a real answer. Again. Don’t know if that’s going to work with this “undecided” audience (and WTF is up with that?) but she makes sense. This is the most surreal election ever.
Clinton says U.S. can be 21st Century clean energy superpower. But expresses previously announced support for not walking away from coal workers.
Leo Gerard, president of the United Steelworkers, writes:
Particularly important to my members is the issue of trade because we are a manufacturing union, with members making not just steel, but tires, glass, paper, cardboard, aluminum, auto parts and many other products. When Trump promises to arbitrarily slap 25 percent and 35 percent tariffs on unfairly traded commodities from China and Mexico, that sounds great.
That is, until the voter discovers a U.S. president can’t unilaterally impose tariffs. Also, until the voter discovers Trump manufactures virtually all his signature products, from suits to shirts, sweaters, belts, ties, tie pins, tie clips, and dozens of others, overseas. Not by American workers in America. Trump could have created American jobs. But he chose not to.
One last audience question. Karl Becker asks: regardless of current rhetoric, can either of you name one positive thing you respect about the other. Let’s see if Trump can do this, he won’t go first.
Yes. Yes, we are.
Hillary says she respects his children, and that says something about Donald. Then switches to the election and how much is at stake in it.
Trump, says he takes her remarks about his children as a compliment. He says he respects that she’s a fighter, that she doesn’t give up. She doesn’t quit, I consider that to be a very good trait. He ends on a sort of decent note. Will that erase all the rest?
Man, those moderators did it. Kudos to Raddatz and Cooper for holding the thing together.
ICYMI, because I kind of did, he did admit that he’s not been paying taxes. Oh, and he’ll put Hillary in jail. So there’s that.
Trump couldn't have acted more like a sexual predator tonight if he had appeared in clown makeup.
