Bold Campaign Wants Coca-Cola To Stop Advertising To Save World’s Rainforests

Dismayed at the effects of deforestation and climate change on the earth’s rainforests, non-profit Amsterdam-based organization Good Things had an idea: what if Coca-Cola, arguably the world’s biggest soft drink company, gave up advertising for a year and pledged its $3 billion annual advertising budget towards conserving the rainforests instead?

The group took inspiration from the company’s motto of spreading happiness, and has publicly appealed to global CEO of Coca-Cola Muhtar Kent, with the aim of collecting signatures to persuade the soft drink giant.

The video below carries the message of how the huge global brand could update its classic ‘Buy the World a Coke’ ad and bring about real change in the world, by preserving the planet and its resources for future generations.
