Longtime friends and collaborators, fashion model Kendall Jenner and LOVE magazine editor-in-chief Katie Grand, are launching a search for the icon of the next generation.
Their project, titled “LOVE ME,” will invite prospective candidates to put themselves forward for the chance to be photographed by Kendall Jenner for the cover of the next issue of LOVE.
According to the press release, everyone is welcome to apply, whether they’re already in the public eye or have a ton of followers on social media, or are completely unknown beyond their own circle of friends.
The pair are keen to stress that it is not a model competition. “The aim is to find someone who represents something new, meaningful and specific to the current age,” Grand said of the project. “To discover a face that represents the times; a personality that in previous decades might have shone through, but which cannot make it through popular culture in its current state, gridlocked by corporate interests.
From the candidates who come forward, Katie Grand and Kendall Jenner will draw up a shortlist of 20 finalists, who will be invited to LA in mid-November to be photographed by Jenner and interviewed for the cover story for the SS17 issue that comes out February 2017.
Anyone who wishes to enter should be between the ages of 15 and 35 and send a photo of themselves to LOVE Magazine via Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #LOVEME17 or, alternatively, email: email@example.com, stating who they are and what they love to do.
