Clinton to Trump: Your campaign is 'exploding'
Donald Trump took on a pugilistic tone, repeatedly interjecting while Clinton tried to respond to his attacks on her emails.
“Look, it's just not true, so please –“ Clinton started to say, before Trump cut her off.
“You didn't delete them?” he said.
Even as the moderators tried to intervene on Clinton’s behalf, Trump continued, invoking the 33,000 emails the FBI said she deleted and continuously cutting her off as she tried to defend herself.
“Please allow her to respond. She didn't talk while you talked,” said moderator Anderson Cooper.
“Yes, that's true, I didn't. In the first debate and I'm going to try not to in this debate because I'd like to get to the questions,” Clinton said.
Again, Trump interjected, saying that’s because she’d like to “get off this question.”
Clinton replied, with an exasperated tone, “Okay, Donald, I know you're into big diversion tonight, anything to avoid talking about your campaign and the way it's exploding and the way Republicans are leaving you. “
Shortly after that, the moderators moved on, to a question about Obamacare. Clinton offered to let Trump answer first, but he demurred.
“No, I’m a gentleman,” Trump said.
