Westminster Council has been accused of ageism after suggesting a 59-year-old job candidate should ‘retire’.

The woman, who has not been named, claims a manager made the comments during an interview in the council’s local land charges department.

Just seconds after the interview had started, the employee apparently asked her: ‘Do you not think you should be retiring and go travelling.’
