Woman accused of nearly running over police officer
PETALUMA (KRON) — A woman is wanted on Monday night after police said she nearly ran over a police officer.
Petaluma police released surveillance photos of the suspect. They are from the 7-Eleven on Perry Lane, located at 1001 Lakeville Street.
KRON4 has been told the incident happened on Sept. 2 at around 11:31 p.m.
Officers were responding to a report of a domestic violence incident at the store.
When they arrived, a clerk pointed them to the woman and a man she was with.
When officers approached the car the couple was in, a silver Audi four-door sports car, they say the woman backed up.
She then accelerated as an officer got out of another car and started to approach.
“The involved female did not stop or slow as she drove past the back-up officer’s patrol car, requiring the officer to quickly move back behind the patrol car door to avoid being struck by the Audi. The Audi then evaded officers by driving blacked out down Payran Street at high speed; officers did not continue to pursue because of the elevated risk to public safety,” police said in a press release.
The woman then sped off.
The suspect is being described as a black female, between 35 and 40 years old, and about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall.
The man is described as black, between 25 and 30 years old, between 5 feet 5 inches tall and 5 feet 7 inches tall, and having a thin build. He was wearing a white tank top, baggy blue jeans, red shoes, and a red hat.
If you recognize her, Petaluma police would like to hear from you.
