Even Models Repeat Outfits During Fashion Week
Unless you want to fly a personal closet crammed into a U-Haul out to New York, London, Milan, and Paris, you are most likely going to end up repeating an outfit during the 28 pavement-pounding days of fashion month. And so what? Not everyone can drop into a designer’s studio and pluck pieces fresh off the runway to stop traffic for a mosh pit of street style photographers. And really, when it comes to outfit repeats, everybody does it. Angela Merkel has been wearing the same outfit for almost two decades! Kate Middleton is famous for it! Jaden Smith wore the same vintage shirt all throughout New York Fashion Week. Even the most too-cool-for-school model duo of all, Mica Arganaraz and Julia Nobis, has been known to repeat.
The friends were first photographed happily skipping to shows side by side during New York Fashion Week. Their look was the definition of chilled-out chic: Nobis was in a streetwear-centric bomber jacket, black pants, a white hoodie—all topped off with a black knit beanie—while Arganaraz sported a long black jacket, natty cobalt blue wide-leg trousers with pleats down the middle, a white tee, a scarf, and her classic tousled shag coif. Fast-forward almost two weeks later, the pair were photographed with the same beaming smiles (this time with post-show lipstick) in Milan, wearing almost the identical looks they were first captured in during New York. The only difference? Nobis was wearing a grungy black hoodie and white skinny jeans, sans the knit cap—looking just as stylish as the first time around. And after stomping back-to-back runways in a slew of outré looks, it’s nice to throw on a trusty, low-key ensemble that you know looks good. Plus, the models who repeat outfits together, seem to get photographed together—and you know what they say, if it ain’t broke . . .
