LOS ANGELES (KRON) — Another hoverboard fire has been reported, this time in Los Angeles.
In a video, you can see the board smoking, and then, it just bursts into flames. It happened on Wednesday, just days before a ban on the devices sets in for all Metrolink stations in Southern California.
Reports of the devices catching fire are becoming more and more common since the surge in sales over the holidays.
Starting Jan. 1 in California, hoverboards will be considered legal as long as riders are at least 16 years old, wear a helmet, and stay off the sidewalk.
